Rowan Gibson
Rowan Gibson is a global business strategist, a bestselling author and an expert on radical innovation. The media have labeled him “a guru among the gurus”. His last book Rethinking The Future (Nicholas Brealey Publishing) is an international best-seller, published in 23 language editions. In it, he argues that linear thinking is useless in a non-linear world – a world where conventional business models, processes and paradigms are increasingly being rendered obsolete. “Leaders”, he says, “need to be able to routinely consider the unthinkable, to regularly rethink their basic assumptions about the business arenas they compete in – not just to avoid potential crises, but to take advantage of exciting new opportunities being created by discontinuous change.” He calls such radical rethinking “the only way to keep pace with business and stay ahead of the game in the new Innovation Economy”.
Rowan Gibson is currently co-writing a major new book (to be published in 2007 by Harvard Business School Press) that explains how to build and sustain a company-wide innovation capability. He teaches organizations how to seize new growth opportunities, create new markets and even transform industries by recalibrating their whole organizational system around the paradigm of innovation.

Rowan Gibson was born and educated in London, where he began his career as an advertising executive in the early eighties. He has lived and worked in various countries over the last twenty years and speaks three languages fluently. Today, Rowan Gibson divides his time between writing, consulting and public speaking. He is currently based near Düsseldorf in Germany with his wife and two sons, and he travels extensively.
